In many industrial processes, heat is generated that cannot be utilized due to the low temperature level.
An example of this are refrigeration systems, where heat is released into the environment at temperatures ranging from +25°C to +35°C, thus warming the surroundings without being used. ARCTOS Industriekälte AG builds NH3 heat pumps, which elevate the waste heat from production processes and refrigeration systems to a higher temperature level, such as +90°C, making it available for heating purposes.
The NH3 heat pumps are used for cooling industrial processes and supplying heat simultaneously, with comparatively low electricity consumption.
Due to their significant contribution to emission reduction, NH3 heat pump systems are currently supported by funding measures from the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) and other institutions.
